Position Overview

This person is responsible for assisting in planning, organizing and implementing all aspects of the resident life enrichment program, volunteer program and transportation for all events and activities. Programs are developed to encourage residents to remain as independent as possible, enhance their self-esteem and recognize and celebrate life accomplishments in addition to nurturing the social, recreational, spiritual, religious and physical aspects of the resident's life

Essential Responsibilities

  1. Get to know each resident individually to better understand needs, varying interests and coordinate activities accordingly.
  2. Involve family, residents, staff and community volunteers to participate as a regular part of the program with the assistance of the Administrator.
  3. Ensure all equipment and supplies are available during activities; manage supply and material orders
  4. Assist with residents during scheduled activities to meet resident's needs.
  5. Provide input and assistance with activity planning, scheduling activities, and flexibility to make unscheduled activity changes
  6. Assist in planning and attend all special events for residents including but not limited to holiday parties and themed meals
  7. Ensure all documentation required is completed for each activity
  8. Assist in seasonal decorating, photographing activities and other duties as requested by the Life Enrichment Coordinator or Administrator.


High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum age requirement is 18. Prior experience and training helpful. Complete all necessary trainings for the CBRF certification within the mandatory timeframes allotted by the State of Wisconsin.  Must complete and stay current with a minimum of 15 in-service hours required by the state of Wisconsin. Ability to communicate a concern or complaint in a constructive and professional manner following protocol. Must possess exceptional communication and problem solving skills and ability to work effectively with all levels of employees throughout Castle Senior Living. Must have the ability to work on a computer and learn new software.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time, communicate verbally and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand and walk. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.  Proper lifting techniques are required.

Employee's job requires frequent:

  • Bending/Stooping
  • Squatting
  • Reaching
  • Crouching
  • Kneeling
  • Pushing/Pulling

      And occasional:

  • Crawling
  • Balancing

Lifting requirements:

  • Up to 30 pounds.  

Job requires employees to use both right and left hands for repetitive action such as: 

  • Simple and firm grasping
  • Fine Manipulation
